This authorizes the annual meeting of the Multistate Research Project, NC1178, "Impacts of Crop Residue Removal for Biofuel on Soils (formerly NC1017)".

The meeting will be held August 3, 2011 (08:00 AM) to August 5, 2011 (10:00 PM) at Mangilao, Guam.

A more detailed schedule will be sent later. The meeting will start at 8 AM on August 3 and adjourn by 10:00 P.M. on August 5, 2011. Lodging will be needed for the 4 nights of August 2nd through the night of August 5th. There are several motels in Mangilao, Guam and more hotel details including names and prices will be provided by Mohammad Golabi All these motels are grouped close together.

The NC-1178 2010 meeting will take place in Brookings South Dakota on June 29 and 30 (Tuesday and Wednesday). Blocks of time are scheduled for discussion and coordination of our new project, state reports, field trip, meals, and informal discussions within a day and a half meeting format. A more detailed schedule will be sent later. The meeting will start at 8 AM on June 29th and adjourn by noon on June 30th.

Lodging will be needed for the nights of June 28th and June 29th. There are several motels in Brookings, Comfort Inn (605) 692-9566 ($73), Fairfield Inn (605) 692-3500 ($99), Holiday Inn Express (605) 692-9060 ($104), Days Inn (605) 692-9471 ($52), Staurolite Inn (605) 692-3111 , Hampton Inn (605) 697-5232 ($85), and Super 8 (605) 692-6920 ($66). All these motels are grouped close together near the main interstate exit to Brookings. Prices are current rates for a basic room and will likely increase for summer.

The Sioux Falls (FSD) airport (the main regional airport) is about 50 miles to the south of Brookings. Delta  Northwest, United, and Allegiant fly into Sioux Falls. Tom Schumaker will try to coordinate transportation from the airport so please contact him with your travel plans. If you would rather travel on your own to Brookings from the Sioux Falls airport, rental cars are available at the airport.
