The NC-1186 meeting will be held in association with the national ASHS meeting. The NC-1186 group will be participating in a nursery/water tour with the Nursery Working Group on Sunday, July 21st. The actual NC-1186 meeting is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m on Monday, July 22nd.

A block of rooms at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Palm Desert is being held in conjunction with the ASHS conference. $105 single or double; $125 triple or $145 per night for a quad. If NC-1186 members book the hotel through the ASHA conference website (www.regonline.com/builder/site/tab1.aspx?EventID=1184657) the $105/night + tax will be automatically available.

The FY2012 NC-1186 annual meeting will be held in conjunction with the 2012 OFA Short-Course and will include tours of local nursery/greenhouse operations and on-going research at Ohio State University. The NC-1186 meeting will also coincide with the USDA-SCRI Grant Development Workshop.

Venue: Springhill Suites, Columbus OH (20 rooms have been set aside for the group at the Springhill Suites. Margaret McGuire of the OFA would prefer to receive a rooming list in April and make the reservations on our behalf.)

Fees: There will be minimal registration fee (TBD) to attendees to cover the cost of tour transportation and food when provided.

Proposed Schedule:

Thursday, July 12: Academic and Industry participants arrive and check in Springhill Suites, Columbus Ohio

Friday, July 13: All day pre-tour of Ohio nurseries/greenhouses. In the evening we will grill out OSU Waterman Farm with an overview of on-site research. Depart/Return to Springhill Suites.

Saturday, July 14: Columbus, OH convention center (Shuttle provided by Springhill Suites) " 8 am to 10 am: SCRI Contain Industry Panel Discussion at convention center " 10 am to 4 pm: SCRI Contain - Grant Development Workshop " An additional room or location will be set aside for people or groups not involved in the "Contain SCRI" to discuss future grants or projects, others can attend the OFA ShortCourse; Dinner as a group on your own in Columbus, OH (no host). Also note there will be an OSU Open house of the OSU annual trials, with buses leaving and returning to the Convention Center.

Sunday, July 15: Columbus, OH convention center (Shuttle provided by Springhill Suites) " 9 am to 5 pm - NC1186 Annual Meeting. " Evening  OFA annual reception at Howlett Hall at annual trial gardens (reception pending) Dinner as a group on your own in Columbus, OH (no host)

Monday, July 16: Attend OFA Short Course or depart (http://www.ofa.org/shortcourseinfo.aspx) Also note there will be an OSU Open house of the OSU annual trials, with buses leaving and returning to the Convention Center. Dinner as a group on your own in Columbus, OH (no host)
