This year's meeting is scheduled for May 8 - 10 in Victoria, B.C., Canada. Meetings will be held Monday and Tuesday (May 8 & 9) followed by a tour on Wednesday. A detailed agenda will follow. To help us plan transportation, refreshments etc. can you please email your intentions to attend or not. This would be greatly appreciated and will help us calculate an appropriate registration fee.

Hotel - The meetings will be held at the Royal Scot Suite Hotel - 425 Quebec Street in Victoria. A block of rooms has been set aside until April 3, 2006. Conference participants should identify themselves as part of the WERA - 20 Conference in order to get the special rate of $99.00 plus taxes per night.

Transportation to Victoria - Travel options to Victoria are listed at the Victoria tourism website http://www.tourismvictoria.com/. Victoria is accessible by air from Vancouver or Seattle. Victoria International Airport is located 22 km north of Victoria http://www.cyyj.ca/index.php?pageid=12. There are several options for ferry service listed in the Victoria tourism website including B.C. Ferries running between the B.C. Mainland and Vancouver Island, Black Ball Transport running between Port Angeles, WA and Victoria harbour, Victoria Clipper high-speed catamaran service (passengers only) between Seattle and Victoria harbours, and Washington State Ferries running between Anacortes, WA and Sidney.

The Registration fee will be determined based on the number of participants (I estimate around $100, and $50 for spouses based on the attendance at the last year's meetings). It will include lunches for all 4 days. If you have special dietary requirements, please let me know.

I will send the list of hotels in the next e-mail. All of them should have the goverment rate and are located close the NCSU campus and JC Raulston Arboretum where the meetings will be held.

Tentative program for the meetings:

Sunday May 15, arrival

Monday May 16 and Tuesday May 17 (till noon), WERA020 meeting, technical reports and other bussiness.

Tuesday May 17 PM, tour of the Arboretum followed by tour of the blackberry nursery and dinner hosted by Jones Farms in Bailey (30 miles east of Raleigh).

Wednesday May 18, Tour (destination to be determined).

Thursday May 19, NRSP5 meeting. More details to follow.

WCC-20 will be a joint meeting with NRSP-5. WCC-20 will have the technical meetings May 17-18. May 19 will be a field tour of California orchards and vineyards. NRSP-5 will have their technical meeting May 20th.
