- A block of rooms have been reserved for the upcoming W1004 meeting at the Maison Dupuy in New Orleans (www.maisondupuy.com). Rooms have been reserved for three nights (November 18th through November 20th) with check-out on November 21. The rate is $89 per night with with the applicable state tax of 13% and a $1.00 occupancy tax. While details of the meeting have not yet been finalized, please consider staying all three nights (I had to make certain guarantees regarding the number of rooms which, hopefully, will easily be met or the difference will come out of my pocket). Two caveats, however. First, cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to arrival. Second, "guests departing earlier than the original departure date at the time of registration may be assessed a $50.00 fee." Not sure how to interpret the "may" but thought I would include it.
When making reservations, please ask for the rate for "LSU Department of Agriculture and Economics." Please book as soon as possible since I reserved only a limited number of rooms which is somewhat less than the expected participants. While the hotel, at present time, has extra rooms that can be reserved, there is no guarantee that rooms will be available if you wait too long.
