WCC-205 "Integrated Water Quality Research and Extension Programs for the Western United States" is authorized to meet in Boise, Idaho, March 10-11,2002.
Although this committee recently held their first meeting in Hawaii on October 12-13 it is appropriate and timely for them to meet again in Boise.
The 2002 National Water Quality Coordinators meeting is scheduled for March 10-12, 2002 in Boise. This national meeting will bring together State Water Quality Coordinators as well as other research, extension, and education professionals from all over the country and will be a unique opportunity for the Western Coordinating Committee-205 to interact with national colleagues.
The first meeting of WCC-205 was held late in the first approved year and particpating in the March meeting in Boise will allow us to establish a regular spring meeting time. During the October 2001 meeting the 205 committee members initiated a number of activities which should be reported. In addition, projects for the recently released RFP for Integrated Water Quality Research, Education, and Extension Grants from USDA will be due shortly after the Boise meeting. The March 10-11 meeting time will provide a good opportunity to finalize regional projects that may be submitted under this grant.
