Statement of Issue(s) and Justification:
The NC-174 Committee decided that they are interested in developing a new proposal to form an NC or NCR committee. At the March meeting of the MRC the proposal was not recommended for support. The recommendation of the MRC was that the project form an NCT committee for up to two years. The support of two Directors is needed to endorse a request for establishment of an NCT committee. Gretel Dentine has asked Kevin McSweeney (Administrative Advisor) to provide endorsement for Wisconsin. Steve Slack of Ohio has provided the second endorsement (Professor Rattan Lal of Ohio has agreed to lead the writing team to establish the proposed project).
- Determine the distribution of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus in the soils of eroded landscapes.
- Assess management and erosion effects on eroded soil productivity and quality of soil, air, and water resources.
